Welding as a core technology

Welding technology as part of pipeline construction forms a central process within our wide-ranging fields of activity. Professional welding work requires solid expertise and many years’ experience. It is thus extremely advantageous that RMT offers superior know-how, state-of-the-art processes and innovative systems engineering. RMT manufactures and welds pipe systems from base metals such as structural steels, high-alloy steels, stainless steels such as (solid) austenites or (super) duplex steels, and pipes made of plastics and composites such as PE, PP, PVC or GRP.

Wide range of components manufactured with assured process reliability

There are no limits to dimensions with regard to nominal diameter and length. A maximum proportion of weld seams are machined on circumferential seam welding systems in an automated, mechanised process. Using these systems ensures high productivity rates and consistent qualities.

Large-scale components can be processed reliably using automatic welding machines, track-guided welding tractors and turn-tilt positioners.

If using these systems is not sufficient, highly experienced welders are used who master all required arc welding processes based on state-of-the-art power sources with assured process reliability.

Superior submerged arc welding technology

The advantage of submerged arc welding technology is the virtually boundless possibilities in terms of wall and component thickness. When this technology is complemented by induction annealing and preheating processes, even the most problematic material and size combinations can be processed without errors.

Surface Tension Transfer® (STT®)

Using the Surface Tension Transfer® (STT®) process provides an exceptional penetration depth and control of heat input without burn-through, especially when joints are welded with open root passes, gaps or thin material.

This process is four times faster than conventional MIG welding and can increase productivity to an extraordinary extent.
